"M R Diving was recommended to me by various diving friends, as the people to do rebreather training with.
I've done a lot of courses during my diving career and also taught a few along the way. However, my Inspiration course with Matt and his merry men was outstanding and lived up to their excellent reputation.
The course was run in a professional manner, covering all the course requirements in an easy going 'fun' manner, with plenty of humor mixed in. Matt conveyed the theory side of rebreather’s at an easy to understand pace and also made it enjoyable!
Having now completed my Inspiration course with M R Diving I am happy to also recommend them to anyone, as the people to do rebreather training with. "

"I carried out my Evolution CCR stage one course on recommendation with M R Diving and was certainly not disappointed in any way.
The days were intensive but very enjoyable. It's good to learn and also to be able to enjoy the experience, which is not always the case in my experience.
The support from Matt after the course is also superb with a very positive response to all my queries.
With Matt’s relaxed but professional style I certainly look forward to returning for further training with M R Diving.
Thanks Again."

I was not sure whether I wanted to be a rebreather diver but after training with Matt I have been converted.
He is an excellent instructor who is extremely thorough and patient and was especially so with me!
He instils confidence into his students and tries to relax everybody with his humour.
It was a fun course and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

A big thanks to Matt at MR Diving for the most enjoyable course I have ever done in my 18 yrs underwater.
The MOD 2 Inspiration CCR course provided by MR Diving was both academically & practically interesting with Matt requiring the highest of standards when passing on knowledge of the rebreather & its use with helium based breathing mixtures.
Nothing was too much trouble for Matt during the course, inclusive of Matt taking the time to go over parts of the course again when requested.
The professionalism of the guy’s at MR Diving is quite evident when doing a course with them, but they don’t forget the fact that we participate in this sport as a hobby & they ensure that the learning experience is structured & informative, but above all fun.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the guy’s at MR Diving if you are thinking about embarking on your CCR course be it MOD 1 or 2.
Thanks again Matt & Ian……………roll on the gas blenders course October.

Like so many divers of long standing I watched the development of sport CCR and for a time even dived a SCR – until “I saw the light”.
Having trained with Matt, I now wish I’d skipped the SCR period of my diving life and moved directly to CCR.
Of my training I could not fault Matt and his team. They made the instruction informative, interesting and fun without compromising on what I needed to know or my safety. The course was down to earth; even Stoney was made to seem interesting.
I would recommend MR Diving for CCR to everyone; Matt and his team are that good and flexible.
Regards,
Peter Tatton

Hi Matt
Just a quick email to say thanks very much for a good course, which was run very well with good humor and fun, and i think bar my very 1st diving course many years ago (which was when it was all new and exciting) this was probably the best course and the most fun that i have been on.
Cheers

I am a BSAC OWI/AD and PADI rescue with BSAC and IANTD advanced nitrox qualifications and have been diving OC twins since 1998. Matt was recommended to undertake a try-dive with last year which I thoroughly enjoyed and I decided as soon a spousal permission was forthcoming that I would take Module 1.
This course was the most challenging and enjoyable one that I have taken to date and the latter was due to Matt's excellent instruction, his advice has been second to none and his knowledge of the unit is very impressive. He has gone out of his way to help me in my quest to find a suitable CCR.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Matt to anyone thinking of switching to a CCR and I will certainly be coming back to him for further training.
Safe diving,
Steve

Big thanks to Matt & Co for a professional and well run course.
I was particularly impressed with the flexibility shown by the team in working around my schedule for all aspects of the training from theory and pool work to the different venues for the open water sessions. Clear and concise training and nothing seemed too much trouble for them.
Still in regular contact and look forward to diving with you all in the future.
If you are in the Midlands and have a remote interest in CCR then give Matt a call for a chat, nothing seems too much trouble for them.
Once again big thanks for putting up with all my whining about delivery dates for my Vision unit and the patience you have shown, Chris says cheers as well for sorting him out so quickly both with his unit and the training.
Roll on Mod 2!!

After buying an SCR from one of Matt's students a year ago, I met up with Matt at Stoney and started to talk about moving to an Inspiration CCR.
Matt has been hugely flexible in arranging course times that could fit in with me and was supportive in all things.
M R Diving & Matt in particular has proved to be hugely professional and knowledgeable. His obvious experience with, and enthusiasm for the unit is infectious.
The training although challenging in places was extremely enjoyable, Matt's patience and perseverance held us steady and built our confidence in the units and our own abilities. Don't expect an easy ride, but do expect absolute focus, excellent Customer Service and a balanced approach with a good dose of fun.
I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending M R Diving and to prove the point will definitely will be continuing my skills development with him going forward.
Matt... a huge thank you.

Clare and I just wanted to thank you for the excellent training and advice you have given us.
As you know, the slow arrival of the Evolution has meant we have been in contact for over a year, and have only just met underwater.
Throughout this period you have been helpful to a fault.
The module 1 CCR course was run with great professionalism, flexibility and humour. I would be happy to recommend you as an exceptionally good instructor to anyone; and we will be back in 100 hours or so to do the next stage.

By far one of the best courses I have had the pleasure of taking part in. The organization for the course, the delivery and detail not included elsewhere were well worth the four days away from home.
Matt's sense of humor, enthusiasm and knowledge of the Inspiration become apparent on day one (as well as on the phone before hand) and were confirmed on every other day of the course.
I will strongly recommend Matt & MR Diving to anyone interested in the Inspiration.
Looking forward to Mod 2

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for a very enjoyable and thoroughly extensive CCR course that I took with you over the Christmas period.
Not only was I impressed by the overall presentation over the four days, but I was also very pleased to see such a wide range of knowledge and experience regarding the system and its complete workings.
It is very rare these days to see such a commitment from an individual who could not do enough for me during and in the following weeks after my course.
Once again many thanks for a very professional and well run course.

I did a try-dive with Matt at Stoney Cove to get a feel for the Inspiration. With Matt's expert guidance I had a really enjoyable dive and was converted to benefits of CCR. I'd planned to leave it another year but following my try dive I decided to make the switch immediately.
I was impressed by Matt's professional approach and well structured course, so I decided to do the TDI module 1 course with him.
I wasn't disappointed! He maintained a level of fun and enjoyment during the course which I've found lacking on other courses that I've done.
I was also attracted by the post TDI course diving support and the opportunity to dive with other Inspiration divers on trips organized by M R Diving.

Many thank’s again Matt for your Inspiration training course.
Your training methods, knowledge of the unit and enthusiasm is second to none. Should anyone be looking to try rebreather diving, I would thoroughly recommend you to be the man to contact.
I will certainly train with you again when I'm ready for trimix! Also please thank Debbie for last Saturday’s lunch and hospitality.
It was the best diving course I've attended.

Having spent the last 20 + years on open circuit, the way foreword seemed somewhat clouded. Do i accept the inevitable and slowly drift into semi-retirement or could something very different take your imagination? Hmm…
Closed circuit is becoming more prevalent and more cost effective.....
So i have taken the plunge and purchased a very reasonably priced "inspiration"
Having trawled through the list of ccr instructor's ...I decided to opt for “M R Diving” based in Stafford....
1st class setup & 1st class instruction, nothing's too much trouble for Matt & Co very helpful......
It's certainly opened up a different world for me.........

Thanks Matt for the time you spent with us on the CCR Mod. 1 course.
Having been open circuit diving for a number of years this was quite a big change that didn't come without some apprehension. However having completed the course we had the confidence to go it alone and build up some experience.
Now some 6 months down the line having done some excellent diving despite the poor summer I can't imagine not having a rebreather.
Thanks also to all the other lads involved with M R Diving, the trip to Oban was some of the best diving of the year combined with excellent company.
I would recommend M R Diving to anyone interested in CCR Diving and making new dive buddies. Once you have dived with Matt you become one of the team and his experience and advice is always at the end of the phone.
Looking forward to going Aqua-zepping again and building experience for next years Ireland trip.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to Matt for running a brilliant course.
I am a BSAC Instructor myself, and have taught SCUBA for several years, I was particularly impressed with the professional way that he presented the course in both tutorial and practical lessons.
On the course he made training on the Inspiration safe, clear and fun, along with clear and precise explanations and excellent visual aids.
Matt had been recommended to me and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone else. (Even if it is a rival agency!).

A massive thanks to Matt at M R Diving.
The choice to move over to the Inspiration was an easy one; the problem was finding the right instructor.
Having heard so many horror stories about rogue instructors and poor courses. I wanted to make sure my money was going to be well spent!
What a great choice.
Matt is an excellent CCR Instructor and more importantly an outstanding CCR Diver. My confidence in his ability was reassured from day one. With no hesitation I'd recommend anyone who is looking at rebreather training to Matt.
His obvious knowledge & passion for CCR diving will rub off on anyone who takes one of his legendary courses!!!!
Did I hear TRIMIX & EASTER?

I’ve experienced many instructors in my time diving and Matt is certainly the best I have ever come across. As a student, I found him to be very knowledgeable in all theoretical and practical aspects of CCR diving, which was tempered with a personality and approach that made the course both enjoyable and enlightening.
Even after the course Matt has remained contactable to ask any and many of the questions and queries about the Inspiration Unit and its operation.
My only criticism?..... I wish I’d done it sooner!
If you want to learn to dive using an ‘Inspiration’ CCR without all of the ‘macho posturing’ and ‘tekkie-mysterioso’ then Matt is the guy for the job”

I started diving back in 1990 whilst in the armed forces, in my time I have been on many courses run by both military and civilian personnel. Before meeting Matt I was a SCR user (Azimuth) having steadily progressed I decided to move on to the Inspiration and it was by chance that I met Matt at Stoney. I was instantly taken by his enthusiasm and help and that just sums it up completely. Nothing is ever too much trouble for Matt. He will always take your call and if not available he will call you back!
Let’s face it when you learn about a new piece of kit you never think of all the questions to ask when you’re on the course but you think of loads when you have completed it and that's when you can call him and you know help is at hand. That's not to say that the course isn't through, it's absolutely spot on but anyone who dives a rebreather no matter what make will always have questions to ask.
M R Diving is a first class set up and I think with my background I am qualified to make such a statement. If you’re like me and want some first class instruction then I recommend you do your course with Matt and M R Diving you will then see exactly what I mean.
And for those out there that may think that this is just a publicity stunt then feel free to contact me direct at webstermark@tiscali.co.uk
Thanks Matt for all your help and support and I look forward to doing my part 2 with you.

After so many years on open-circuit, I had serious reservations as to whether or not I was doing the right thing going onto CCR, but after a couple of dives, Matt’s relaxed but thorough style of teaching gave me all the confidence I needed.
After five dives I was feeling completely relaxed and totally sold on CCR diving. and would recommend M R Diving to anyone seriously considering taking such a big leap into the unknown (one of my buddies has already booked a try dive)
I do have one question.....Is it a legal requirement to buy an O'Three dry suit once you have a yellow box?
Anyone want to buy a twin-set?

" Just a quick thank you for all your professional help and tuition during my mod 1 ccr Inspiration course.
After avoiding rebreather's for so long I decided to bite the bullet with a got to do it sooner or later attitude.
To say my way of diving has changed is an under statement. I used to think my diving couldn't be any better but I now know different.
Using the Inspiration is a lot easier than I thought it would be and inspires confidence to say the least.
The training program was very thorough and informative and carried out in a positive friendly atmosphere.
Can't thank you enough."

"Great relaxed tuition that does the trick! More than happy to recommend Matt to anyone thinking about Inspiration Training (and have done!). The Inspiration represents great value for those who want to go that next step!"
Tina Griffiths
"Thanks for the excellent paced training! The long walk from the "top car park" at Stoney was hard work but we had plenty of time on the long dives to recover! We're getting plenty of practice in now to get ready for the "Maldives!!!"
Dave Tomlinson
"Great course - really enjoyed it. Matt obviously loves diving the Inspiration, and this enthusiasm definitely rubs off on you as you dive with him. As you can see, I clearly took your advice on not bolting on lots of things - well apart from the SMB, Reel, Compass, Knife and definitely non-Tech Torch."

" Matt, thank you for the course on rebreathers with the Inspiration. I had a really good time learning all about closed circuit diving. This course took the mystery out of rebreathers and taught me a lot about diving, rebreathers are not dodgy bits of kit but a great tool to extend your bottom time and depth without all the need for strapping loads of tanks on and taking many
different types of gases in with you. The rebreather is a great piece of equipment, but it is like any bit of diving kit if you don't use it right
you put yourself at risk. The only thing I would say is that once you buy one you will have to get yourself a pee valve for your dry suit
for after a dive of over one and a half hours at 22m at Stoney Cove you need to pee.
Thanks again for the course Matt, it was very instructive and fun all the best Mike Woodward"

"After seeing those strange Yellow boxes, on my last dive trip I decided it was time I found out what it was all about. My perception was that this was a complex bit of kit that you needed a degree to use one.
Well my experience with Matt and the team at M R Diving can only be describe as an eye opener. I have now completed the TDI Inspiration course and have found it both informative and fun. The course included lectures, pool and open water sessions use of an Inspiration unit , and a hands on practical experience maintaining the equipment. Matt and the team provided a flexible and safe environment whilst undertaking the course, as well as providing a personal insight into diving the 'Inspiration'
After undertaking the course, I can know say that my next diving purchase will be an 'Inspiration' and I would fully recommend M R Diving to experience bubble free diving.
Mark Wright ' A convert'."

"I have been diving for 14 years now, but diving the Inspiration for the first time was amazing.
The course and tuition provided by M R Diving was of the highest standard and helped me further my diving skills. Now having my own Inspiration and diving with it regularly is one of the most pleasurable experiences of my sport diving so far."

"So it's true, you can teach an old dog new tricks, it just takes an instructor who is knowledgeable, skilled and committed to his subject to achieve the result.
Many many thanks for all your work and help during recent Inspiration level one course.
It was a truly enlightening and exciting experience. I would be happy to recommend you to anyone considering Inspiration training
Please pass on my thanks to Toddy, Simon and Richie for their input and help during the training.
Regards and success in your training for the future.

"It was with some trepidation that I embarked on the Inspiration course, being slightly out ranked by the black suited O Three brigade!
However, nothing to fear Matt provided an excellent training course. Theory was well explained, pool sessions clearly demonstrated and open water experiences enjoyable.
So what was it David hinted might arrive for Christmas?
Thanks for a great course.

After spending quite a few expensive years diving on open circuit twin 15 cylinders and two ten litre stage bottles, and an ever thinning wallet given the ever increasing cost of helium and oxygen I came to the crunch point!
"I need a Rebreather to make this diving cost effective"
Let alone give my back a break!
I first met Matt at the National Diving centre in Chepstow where we got chatting about rebreathers and trimix, after some thought I made the decision to go closed circuit and ordered my Inspiration Classic,
Matt's course's are second to none, very professional, clear and concise, I would strongly recommended anyone thinking of moving into Rebreather/ technical diving to have a chat with Matt first.
10/10 Highly recommended
